Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent residual paper at removal of a cassette, in a paper feeder for an electronic photoduplicating machine or the like, by providing a separator member, constituted such that the separator member is urged by a spring and always contacted to a paper feeding member further temporarily separated from the paper feeding member at removal of the cassette, in a paper feeding bed. CONSTITUTION:A separator member 9 is forcibly contacted by urging force of a spring 11 to an intermediate part 4a of an endless belt 4. Accordingly, when the belt 4, mounted with a cassette 3, is driven, paper X can be fed sheet by sheet through action of the belt 4 and the separator member 9. If the cassette 3 is pulled out, an iron piece 13 in a front wall 3a of the cassette 3 is attracted to a permanent magnet 12 in the separator member 9, and the separator member 9 is swung to the direction C together with movement to the direction B of the cassette 3 and separated from the endless belt 4. Accordingly, the paper X held between the belt 4 and the separator member 9 can be taken out with the cassette 3. In this way, the paper can be prevented from being left in a device when the cassette is removed, and the cassette can be easily replaced.
