Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate retrieval and to reduce necessary storage capacity by listing and selecting homonyms of every ''yomigana'' (Japanese rendering of Chinese ideograph) train of a word constituting a compound word inputted successively as a ''yomigana'' sequence. CONSTITUTION:Once input on a keyboard 5 is done, an interrupt signal is supplied from a keyboard controller 6 to a microprocessor 1 throgh a control bus 4 and according to a control procedure stored in an ROM13, various kinds of control operation necessary for character processing are carried out. A ''kana'' (Japanese syllabary) character train is decomposed into ''yomigana'' character train of every word by specifying punctuation with a key, and for every ''kana'' character train decomposed and inputted, a dictionary in a storage device 15 (RAM) is retrieved to write detected ''kanji'' (Chinese character) words in a detection output buffer memory 15A in the RAM15. The detected ''kanji'' words are arranged according to the decomposed words, displayed on the display screen of a CRT display device 8, and then selected.
