CONSTITUTION:A character symbol of a character broadcasting number is always stored in a memory 14, a write address of the memory 14 is set by an address setting means 12, and a received program number is compared with a program number requested by a user from a data processing circuit 5, in a program number comparring circuit 10. Whether a character signal obtained by coincidence of the program numbers in this circuit 10 is a page control packet or not is discriminated with a PCP discriminating circuit 11, its control mode code is discriminated by a display mode discriminating circuit 16, and whether a display form of character broadcasting is fixed display or vertical scroll display is discriminated. In case of scroll display, an address of the means 12 is increased, and a character signal of one picture portion is recorded in the memory 14 without driving an address resetting circuit 13, so that it can be displayed without a queuing time.
