Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the setting of timer time by providing touch switches at positions which correspond to bar display elements for displaying the remaining time of a timer, and setting the timer time by turning off the high-order digit bar display elements. CONSTITUTION:Touch switches 4-0-4-59 each composed of a transparent electrode are provided on bar display elements 2-0-2-59, and when the touch switch 4-59 is touched with a finger while a switch 20a is connected to a contact 20b, the signal passes through a gate 32-59 to reset a flip-flop 14-59. The bar display element 2-59 turns off to hold a gate 28-58 in readiness for operation, and when the touch switch 4-58 is touched with the finger, the bar display element 2- 58 turns off. After timer time is set as mentioned above, a switch 20 is inverted and a switch 40 is closed to apply time pulses, outputted from a frequency dividing circuit 12, to a timer counter 14, so that timer operation starts.
