PURPOSE:To contrive to increase the function of a semiconductor integrated circuit device without increasing the number of terminals by a method wherein circuits to generate control signals comparing the voltage of input signal with the reference value are provided to the semiconductor integrated circuit having buffer circuits of the plural number to generate complementary output signals. CONSTITUTION:The comparators 9 to compare the voltage of input signal with the reference voltage are provided to a semiconductor substrate 1 having the buffer circuits 4 of the plural number to generate complementary output signals (R7 and -R7, for example) corresponding to signal input terminals P, Q, R0-R7, and the circuit is constituted as to input the outputs S, S' thereof to a circuit 8 having the additional function to be necessitated selectively being limited in the case when output P has the high level, and to a circuit 10 having the additional function to make outputs R7, -R7 to have the low level temporarily both together. Accordingly addition of the circuit function can be attained without increasing the number of the input terminals.
