Abstract

PURPOSE:To restrict the generation of noise waves due to a discharge by a method wherein a rotor electrode faced to a plurality of side electrodes with small gaps therebetween is comprised of a conductive metallic base and a dielectric body, which are brought into close contact with each other by providing a projecting step part or the like on one of them. CONSTITUTION:The distributor is supplied with a high voltage through a central terminal 7, which voltage is transmitted to the rotor electrode 3 through a spring 8 and a center carbon 9 and is distributed to the side electrodes 6 by dielectric breakdown of air at discharge gaps G between a tip part of the rotor electrode 3 and the side electrodes 6, and then it is fed to an ignition plug. The rotor electrode 3 is composed of the conductive metallic base 3A and the dielectric body 12 extended to a position proximate to the discharge-side tip of the base 3A. After fitting a calk hole 15 of the dielectric body 12 to a calking projection 15A of an insulator 4, the base 3A provided with a bend angle 13 is laminated on the dielectric body 12 by fitting it to the projection 15A through the hole 15, and the both 3A, 12 are fixed by a calking part 14 of the projection 15A.
