PURPOSE:To enable to confirm the presence/absence of mis-transmission and its original simply, by recording a part of a transmitted picture on a recording paper at a reception section at the same time with transmission, in an FAX in common use for transmission/reception with automatic paper feed function of transmission originals. CONSTITUTION:When a transmitted original is detected, a switch 323 operates a main control circuit 324, a transmission section is made to pickup state and a reception section is made to reception state, and a signal S23 is given to a monitor section generating circuit to switch a contact of a switch 314 while a monitor section signal S10 is applied. A picture signal (a) read out from an original is inputted to a circuit 302 and required coding is made in the order of S1-S3 and transmitted to a telephone line from a circuit 325. At the same time, this signal is also inputted to the reception section during the operation of the said switch 324, and this device makes the same operation as the reception state and records a part of the transmitted picture on a recording paper, allowing to collate and confirm the transmission afterwards surely.
