Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent idle rotation of a tire and safely operate its running motion at travelling on muddy land, snow-covered land, etc., by providing a circumferentially extended groove in a tire tread surface and retractably providing an idle rotation preventive tire in said groove. CONSTITUTION:A groove 2 is provided peripherally of a vehicle tire to its tread surface 1, and a subtire, consisting of an idle rotation preventive tread part 3 and side wall parts 4, 4, is arranged internally of said groove 2, then side subtire is integrally provided with a bottom part of said groove 2 by said side wall parts 4, 4. Further an air pipe 6 is opened to an internal space 5 of the subtire, and compressed air is supplied from this air pipe 6 to the inside of said internal space 5 to protrude the subtire from the tread surface 1 of the vehicle tire. Under this condition, when a vehicle travels on muddy land, snow-covered land, etc., its tire can be effectively prevented from idle rotation to realize safety running of the vehicle.
