Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled polymer without depositing scales regardless of the monomer or polymerization system, by coating the inner wall of a polymerizer with an aqueous solution containing a condensate derivative of an aromatic amine compound with an aromatic nitro compound and a silicic acid, drying the resultant coat, and carrying out the polymerization.
CONSTITUTION: In polymerizing a vinyl monomer, e.g. vinyl chloride, the inner wall or other parts to be in contact with the monomer of a polymerizer are coated with an aqueous solution containing (A) an alkali metallic or ammonium salt of a sulfonated condensate of an aromatic amine compound, e.g. aniline, with an aromatic nitro compound, e.g. nitrobenzene, prepared by sulfonating the condensate and (B) a water-soluble silicic acid or water-soluble metallic salt, e.g. sodium silicate, at a pH≤7, and the resultant coat is dried to form the aimed film. A 3W6C monohydric alcohol, e.g. isobutyl alcohol, may be added to the components (A) and (B).
