Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:The imidazopyrazine derivative of formulaI(R1 is phenyl which may be substituted with lower alkyl, halogen, CF3, etc.; R2 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, etc.).
EXAMPLE: 7-(4-Fluorophenyl)-1,5,6,7,8,8a-hexahydroimidazo[1,5-a]pyrazin-3(2H) one.
USE: It has antiphlogistic activity and analgesic activity, and is useful as a drug.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIcan be prepared by the cyclization reaction of the piperazine derivative of formula II in a solvent such as methanol, in the presence of a base such as sodium alcoholate. The reaction temperature is usually about the boiling point of the solvent, and the reaction completes in about 5W30hr.
