Abstract

PURPOSE:To accelerate the warming-up of an internal combustion engine, evaporate and separate impurities such as mixed fuel and moisture and quickly discharge them as blow-by gas, by quickly heating the lubricating oil containing the mixed fuel, in the crankcase of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating oil heating chamber 4 is provided in the upper part of a crankcase C so that the chamber extends in the crankcase body 1 and cover 2 of the crankcase. When an oil pump P is driven, lubricating oil in an oil reservoir 11 is supplied into the heating chamber 4. The vertically middle part of the partition wall 14 of the heating chamber 4 is provided with an outlet port 6 for connecting the heating chamber and the interior of the crankcase C to each other. The lubricating oil in the heating chamber 4 overflows through the outlet port 6 and returns into the reservoir 11. The upper part of the partition wall 14 of the heating chamber 4 is provided with a breather port 7 which communicates with a breather chamber 15. A thermostat 17 in the oil reservoir 11 functions to turn on or off a heater circuit 18 connected to a heater 16.
