Abstract
PURPOSE:To minimize the size of an optical transmitting and receiving equipment, by supplying an electric signal and a supply voltage from a signal generating device to the optical transmitter through one line, and by supplying a supply voltage from a signal receiving device to the optical receiver and, at the same time, by supplying an electric signal in the inverse direction. CONSTITUTION:A signal in which a video signal and a DC voltage are overlapped each other enters into an optical transmitter 18 through an output terminal 17. The electric signal is converted into an optical signal through a resistance 39 and a luminous element 40 in the transmitter 18, and the optical signal is sent to an optical receiver 24 through an optical fiber 19. In the optical receiver 24, the optical signal is converted into an electric signal by an optical receiving element 31, and the electric signal is sent to a monitor television 22 after it is amplified by an amplifier 43. The power source which drives the luminous element 40, the optical receiving element 31, and the amplifier 44 is installed at the television camera 16 side and the monitor television 22 side.
