Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a material for hot working tools which is provided with high heat conductivity and ductility together with high temp. strength and abrasion resistance and long life by micro-combining powders of Fe group, Ni group and Co group alloys and Fe powder.
CONSTITUTION: Fe powder of high heat conductivity and ductility and 15W 90wt% ≥1 kind of abrasion resistant and heat resistant alloy powders of Fe groups, Ni groups and Co groups based on the weight of said powder are uniformly mixed and the mixture is compacted with a hot hydrostatic press, whereby the boundary surfaces of the powders are micro-combined. The powders are compacted to true density in this way. It is equally well to apply hot plastic working further after the micro-combination. This material does not cause permanet set in fatigue, cracking, erosion, deformation, abrasion etc. and is long life when adapted to hot working tools such as dies for casting of high m.p. metals which receive friction effect, thermal impact and mechanical working stresses while hot.
