CONSTITUTION:A floppy disk device FDD 2 is connected to a signal line computer 1 by a signal line, and is usually set to an off-state. In case of controlling a process 4, or in some special case, the computer 1 sets the FDD 2 to an on- state, transfers a special function program to a main storage device, and executes the function. Also, the computer 1 is provided 3 internal timers such as a monitoring timer 10, a start timer 11 and a stop timer 12. In this way, when the device is shifted to its on-state from off, the timer 11 is used, and on the other hand, when it is shifted to its off-state from on, the timer 10 and 12 are used, and start and stop of the FDD 2 are controlled.
