Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a dispersion of finely divided particles, which is stable and suitable as an ahesive for bonding between polyester and rubber, by dispersing a novolak resin in water by usin a specified anionic surfactant.
CONSTITUTION: An anionic surfactant selected from sodium salt of an arom. solfonic acid/formalin condensates and high-molecular acrylate surfactants is used. A novolak resin obtd. from a phenol of the formula (wherein R1 is hydroxyl, methyl, methoxy; R2 is H, a 1W4C alkyl; n is 1W3) such as m-cresol resin or a m-methoxyphenol/alkylresorcinol resin and 0.5W50% (based on resin solid) above anionic surfactant are dispersed in water by using a sand grinder, etc.
