Abstract

PURPOSE:To clearly discriminate between an old and a new message when the new message is recorded on a tape where the old message has been recorded, by inhibiting the recording of the new message from being started in the middle of the old message. CONSTITUTION:In response to the operation of an input key 1, a control circuit 2 checks stored information in a storage circuit 3. When a tape is at the ending of a message, a driving circuit 4 is energized and a tape 9 is run at a normal speed to perform recording. Further, the tape position is in the middle of the message, the tape 9 is forward fast and at the same time, the output of a regenerative amplifier 5 is monitored; after the ending point of the message is detected, the tape 9 is run at the normal speed to perform the recording. Therefore, even if the tape 9 is stopping in the middle of a message in an automatic answering telephon set, etc., which records messages automatically, a new and an old message are discriminated securely without being mixed.
