Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent neutron density in a centrifugal clarifier from attaining the critical valve by disposing a member packed with a neutron absorber in the liquid contact part of the centrifugal clarifier to absorb neutrons in said absorber.
CONSTITUTION: A stationary sleeve 15 is mounted by means of plural ribs 14 in a radial direction to the center in the bottom part of a casing 6. A recess 18 is provided to the inside surface of the top end of a rotary bowl 7 to face the sleeve 15 at the higher position than the max. liquid level of a receiver 9. The top end part of a neutron absorbing bar 19 packed with powder of neutron absorber in a hollow cylinder 20 is extended into the recess 18. Thence, a washing nozzle of a hollow cylinder 22 enclosing the sleeve 15 from its position up to near its top end and a liquid feed pipe of a hollow cylinder 23 enclosing the bowl 7 from its bottom end to the part slightly above the bottom end are disposed. The neutron density is lowered when the concn. of a fissionable material attains the critical value by the overlapping generation of clogging of a draining hole 13, a discharge part 6a, a recovering pipe 10, etc. and fault of a safety devide.
