Abstract

PURPOSE:To omit a clear control circuit provided as external provision in conventional systems and to reduce the clear time, by giving the clear function at the inside of a storage element. CONSTITUTION:When a clear instruction signal 107 goes to ''1'', a flipflop (F/F) 12 storing the clear state is set and a counter 11 is reset. When a data ''0'' with an output signal 109 is written in an address 0 of a memory cell array 1 indicated by the counter 11, the Add 1 instruction is given to the counter 11 with an output signal 105 delaying a signal 106 with a delay circuit 14. ''0'' is written in the memory cell array 1 until the counter 11 overflows, and when the counter 11 overflows, ''0'' is written in all the addresses of the memory cell array 1 (cleared).
