Abstract

PURPOSE:To display an invariably erect image in a viewfinder by automtiacally switching display elements in the viewfinder and display elements for data imprinting according to whether a camera is in a longitudinal or lateral image plane state. CONSTITUTION:A longitudinal and lateral image plane detector 2 uses a sensor formed by adding a contact piece 6 of two-pronged elastic metallic thin plate to a base plate 3 provided in a camera body 1 vertically. Further, the base plate 2 is provided with a common conductive pattern 7 in a semicircle shape centering on a shaft 4, and independent conductive patterns 8a and 8b in a quadrant shape are provided outside of it; and two prong parts of the contact piece 6 touch the common conductive pattern 7 and independent conductive pattern 8a in a lateral image plane state or the common conductive pattern 8b in a longitudinal image plane state.
