Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a thin hand free from deformation for a watch by forming a hand with a plurality of electrodeposited metallic layers provided internally with compressive stress or tensile stress and by mechanically working one side of the hand.
CONSTITUTION: A synthetic resin matrix 5 holding a recess 4 having the shape of a completed hand is molded. The recess 4 is coated with an electrically conductive copper film 6, and electrodeposited metals 7a, 7b are laid in ≥2 layers with an electrodepositing bath represented by the figure under electrodepositing conditions represented by the figure. These metals can be provided internally with compressive stress or tensile stress by the bath. The surface of the metal 7b is then removed by milling 8 or other working to ensure the necessary thickness and to provide tensile stress to the metal 7b. The metals 7a, 7b laid in ≥2 layers are detached from the matrix to complete a hand.
