Abstract
PURPOSE:To keep temperature of the inside of a magnetic disk unit constant by attaching a temperature detecting means in the magnetic disk unit to control the air flow adjusting means of a cooling fan which cools the magnetic disk unit from the outside. CONSTITUTION:A bimetal 11 expanding and contracting according to the change of temperature is attached to the inside of a disk enclosure 1. A wire 13 linked with the one end of the bimetal is also linked with the one end of an air flow adjusting plate 13 through a guide roller 12. The air flow adjusting plate 14 is provided with a rotary shaft 15 as a supporting shaft and air blowing from a cooling fan 17 flows as shown by an arrow A along a guide plate 16. When the temperature in the disk enclosure 1 goes up, the wire 13 is pulled up, the air flow adjusting plate 14 rotates in the counterclockwise direction and air from the cooling fan 17 flows along the arrow B, cooling the disk enclosure 1 from the outside. Thus, the cooling air from the outside does not flow into the inside and the whole unit is cooled, preventing the internal temperature from sudden variation and also preventing the unit from thermal off track effectively.
