Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the temperature of gas simply and at a high speed by obtaining the sound speed of an ultrasonic wave in the gas by a breathing flow meter using ultrasonic waves, then obtaining a gas composition by a gas concentration meter, and computing the temperature of the gas from said values. CONSTITUTION:When ultrasonic wave vibrators 4 and 5 are driven by the outputs of drivers 6 and 7, the ultrasonic waves are propagated from the ultrasonic wave vibrators 4 and 5 to the opposing ultrasonic wave vibrators 5 and 4. The ultrasonic wave signals received by the vibrators 5 and 4 are converted into pulses at received waveform shaping circuits 8 and 9, and the propagating times are counted by propagating time counters 2 and 3. The analyzed value of the gas from a gas analyzer 50, which is connected to a probe 30 through a tube 31 wherein the gas is introduced, is read through an AD converter 44. The sound speed C of the ultrasonic wave is obtained by a microcomputer 42. The temperature coefficient K of the sound speed of the ultrasonic wave is obtained together with the output of the gas analyzer 50, and the temperature T of the gas is obtained.
