Abstract
PURPOSE: To make unnecessary the change of mechanical setting of the transmission element and reception element, by installing the transmission and reception elements opposingly in the measured solution, and using selectively the transmission element for transmission or reflection depending on the concentration of liquid and the length of measured distance.
CONSTITUTION: Taking the reception sound pressure of ultrasonic wave propagating in the suspension of distance l as ER, the reception sound pressure when the particles of suspension are zero as ERO, and the attenuation by particles of suspension as αs, αsl is shown in equation (I). Accordingly, the change of mechanical setting of transmission and reception elements can be made unnecessary.
