Abstract

CONSTITUTION:An M-notation swallow counter consists of a prescaler 22 whose frequency division ratio is switched to 1/(P+1) and 1/P, a G-notation periodic counter 30, a G-notation programmable counter 23, an H-notation programmable counter 24, and an I-notation programmable counter 25. When outputs of down counters 23 and 24 become 0, an FF28 is reset by the output of a code detecting circuit 34. The output of the FF28 becomes a prescaler control signal and resets the periodic counter 30 after being delay in a delay circuit 29 by a quantity corresponding to P/2 input pulses. The periodic counter 30 controls a prescaler 22 to perform only the 1/P frequency division.
