Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent falling off of a positive black mix and expansion of a battery due to discharge by placing a liquid holding material comprising a sponge material having corrosion resistance and continuous foam between a positive electrode and a separator. CONSTITUTION:A disc type lithium metal negative electrode 2 is pressed to touch the inside of a stainless steel sealing plate 1 which also acts as a negative terminal. A nonwoven polypropylene separator 3 is placed on the reaction surface of the negative electrode 2. A positive electrode 5 obtained by mixing and molding and molding a graphite fluoride active material with a fluorine resin binder and a conductive material comprising acetylene black is arranged inside positive case 6 made of a stainless steel. A liquid holding material 9 obtained by making in a form of plate or dish a sponge metal having continuous foam such as aluminum, titanium, stainless steel is arranged between the positive electrode 5 and separator 3.
