Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the weight and the space of a controlling device for an electric motor vehicle and to enhance the economy of the vehicle by providing a field weakening contactor on a common cam shaft with a switching contactor, thereby eliminating the necessity of separately providing a field weakening electromagnetic contactor. CONSTITUTION:Switching contactors 12, 13 are closed at the P side at the power driving time, and a motor is accelerated by the ON or OFF of a chopper unit 18. When the current flowing rate of the chopper unit 18 becomes maximum, a pneumatic cylinder is operated to turn a contactor 20 ON, and the motor is accelerated by the ON or OFF of the unit 18. At this time the contactors 12, 13 remain ON at the P side. At the braking time an air cylinder is further operated to turn the contactors 12, 13 ON at the B side. At this time the contactor 20 is also turned ON. In this manner, the unit 18 is turned ON to decelerate the motor. That is, the combination of the contactors 12, 13 and 20 has three positions of power drive field position, power drive field weakening position and brake field weakening position.
