Abstract
PURPOSE:To automatically drain accumulated water in the inside of an air cooler, by providing a water drain check valve, opened at prescribed pressure, in a lower part of the air cooler cooling feed air to an engine. CONSTITUTION:An intake valve 12, exhaust valve 14 and injection nozzle 16 are provided in the upper part of a cylinder 10. A passage 18 communicates the exhaust valve 14 to a turbine 20 of a supercharger. And a compressor 26 is communicated to an air cooler 36 through a passage 34, then air is cooled by the air cooler 36, changed to high density and fed to a combustion chamber through a passage 46. Here a water drain check valve 50 is provided in a lower part of the air cooler 36. This check valve 50, if prescribed internal pressure is applied to its end part 52, is opened to discharge water in the inside. In this way, accumulated water in the air cooler can be automatically drained.
