Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to prevent sheets of paper from being fed stuck together by bringing the lower end of a separating plate into contact with the upper end of a gap adjusting screw. CONSTITUTION:The front end of the upper surface of a bundle 1 of sheets is pressed against a paper feeding pulley 12 constantly with a predetermined paper feeding pressure by the force of a paper feeding spring 11. When the pulley 12 is rotated in response to a paper feed signal, the uppermost sheet of the bundle 1 is moved forwardly by the friction between the sheet and the pulley 12, the tip of the sheet presses against the tip part of the upper end of the separating plate 13 which is slanted at about 45 deg., thereby depressing the plate 13 downwards to form a gap between the plate 13 and the peripheral surface of the pulley 12, and the sheet is fed forwardly by passing therebetween. Thus, the lower end of the plate 13 comes into contact with the upper end of the gap adjusting screw 18, whereby the fall amount is restricted so that the gap between the pulley 12 and the plate 13 does not exceed the range of from the thickness of one sheet and that of two sheets. Accordingly, the sheet can be prevented from being fed stuck together.
