Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a display device poor in the number of picture elements to be used in a monitor display system identifying a layout and printer graphics by displaying part of data of the memory for a whole system and data of the memory for a single character. CONSTITUTION:When a partial display is instructed from a controlling circuit 8 onto a system controller 21, a character image is given to a monitor camera 18 through half mirror 17 and stored in a single character memory 20 and further in a whole system memory 22 through an A/D conversion. When a character frame fixing signal is inputted, the data in the memory 20 is transferred to a video memory 23 and displayed on a display device 25 by display controller 24 through a D/A conversion. Next, when a printing signal is inputted, the data in the memory 20 is stored in the memory 22 and when a signal for displaying the whole system is inputted, the data in the memory 22 is sampled, transferred to the memory 23 and displayed. Accordingly, the memory positions of the whole system memory 22 move by the quantity corresponding to the dispacement of a sensing cylinder 6 and stored in the same state as the present position printed on the sensible medium.
