Abstract

PURPOSE:To greatly reduce manufacturing cost and to facilitate to manufacture by providing a dome-shaped heat insulation member and a chamber separately in the auxiliary chamber formed between a cylinder head inner side wall and a chamber having an injection nozzle. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary chamber 12 is formed by welding a dome shaped thin insulation member 11 on a circular groove 10 of a chamber 6. Insulator space is formed between the outer wall of the dome-shaped insulator member 11 and a recess 5c on the side wall of the cylinder head. The auxiliary chamber is manufactured easily with a high durability, light weight maintaining a high precision. Moreover, the starting property of the engine, fuel consumption and the engine output are improved.
