Abstract
PURPOSE:To set the distribution rate of the quantities of light freely with simple constitution, by branching light which is made incident from the bottom surface of a prism in an isosceles triangle shape, into two luminous fluxes across its vertex as a boundary and by moving the prism on its bottom surface. CONSTITUTION:A parallel beam with prescribed beam diameter, when incident perpendicularly to the bottom surface H2 and to two bevels S2 and S3 containing a wedge angle theta1, is divided into two beams across its vertex as a voundary. This prism 2 is moved parallelly on the base H2 to vary the distribution ratio of the quantity of light between two emitted beams freely. Consequently, an optical branching device of simple constitution whose distribution ratio of the quantity of light is set easily is obtained.
