Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a stable output control possible without a sudden output change caused by water level lowering by giving priority to water level adjusting operation over governer-free operation when the water level of a supply water tank is lowered to a prescribed level. CONSTITUTION:The axis of abscissas represents the water turbine output from 0% to 100%, or P0 to P100 respectively, while the axis of ordinates the water level of a supply water tank from the upper limit WLH to the lower limit WLL2. WLL1 indicates the water level at which the operation priority is changed from governor free to water level control; when the water level is between WLH and WLL1, governor-free operation is conducted regardless of the water level in the output range P0 to P100 (the region surrounded by the points A, B, D', and C'). On the other hand, the priority is given to water level control operation with the water level-output characteristics, or the line CD', when the level of the water is less than WLL1. Therefore, a sudden change in water turbine output caused by the lowering of water level can be prevented.
