Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformly disperse Ca and considerably improve impact value and yield by inclining a Ca or Ca type wire at a specific angle to the perpendicular of molten metal level and adding the same into the molten metal at spcific rates of wire addition in a specific temp. range. CONSTITUTION:A Ca wire or Ca-Al wire 2 is disposed with 5-20 deg.C inclinations to the perpendicular 5 of the surface 3 of molten metal. Here, the temp. of the molten metal in a ladle 4 is kept at 1,530-1,670 deg.C, and the wire 2 is added into the molten metal at 10-200m/min rates of wire addition. As shown in B, Ca elutes into the ladle 4 over a wide range and disperses uniformly.
