Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve stabilization of the initial friction coefficient of a friction material, by containing a steel fiber with carbon quantity below specific content. CONSTITUTION:A brake friction material is allowed to contain a steel fiber with carbon quantity less than 0.07%, then a difference between friction coefficients of a brake at speed pf 100km/H and 50km/H can be decreased. Accordingly, almost constant effectiveness of the brake can be obtained at both high speed running and low speed running.
