Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a dehydrated, deashed heavy oil slurry of coal that is useful as a raw material for coal liquefaction, by introducing a slurry comprising coal, light oil and water into a flotation are dressing machine to provide a stream of deashed coal and then dehydrating the stream before adding heavey oil to the dehydrated stream.
CONSTITUTION: Raw coal, light oil and water compresing make-up water and various kinds of drainage are mixed in a tank 1, and the mixture is ground on a wet type grinder 2 to provide a slurry, which is led into a flotatin are dressing nachine 3 to be separated into one stream a of deashed coal and the other stream b of ash. The stream a is dehydrated on a coal belt feeder 4 and then mixed with heavy oil in a heavy oil mixing tank 6. The mixture is sent into a centrifuge 7. A coal-heavy oil slurry coming out of the centrifuge 7 is mixed with a heavey oil d from an oil-water separator 9 in a heavy oil slurry tank 10 to proide the raw coal for coal liquefaction. A separated water-containing heavy oil stream c passes through a water-containing heavy oil heater 8 and then separated through an oil-water separator 9 into one stream d of heavy oil and the other stream e of drainage, each being recycled for reuse.
