Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize a high voltage-resisting characteristic, and obtain an increased initial and saturated emission by packing a high-density emitter member into the meshes of a network affixed on the main surface of a base metal, and coating both the network and the high-density emitter member with a low-density emitter member. CONSTITUTION:A concave base metal 22, which is made of Ni and forms a part of a spherical surface, is fixed to one end of a cathode sleeve 21 enclosing a heater. A network 23 made of Ni is affixed to the concave surface of the base metal 22 by welding or the like. The meshes of the network 23 are packed with a high-density emitter member 24 made of a mixture powder of Ni and a carbonate. Then, the network 23 and the member 24 are coated with a low- density emitter layer 25, which consists of only a carbonate and has a thickness of around 15-20mum. Owing to the above constitution, an increased initial and saturated emission can be obtained, and a high voltage-resisting characteristic can be realized.
