Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow convergence without phase shift for the surface waves from an exciting electrode, by forming the shape of reflection electrodes provided on a major plane of a piezoelectric substrate for an RF converter for a VTR so that the surface waves can effectively be reflected. CONSTITUTION:A signal voltage in a prescribed frequency applied between terminals 121 and 122 of an exciting electrode 12 formed on one major plane of a piezoelectric substrate 11 such as LiTaO3, is reflected with reflection electrodes 13, 14 at the both sides through the use of surface waves of the substrate 11 and fed back to the electrode 12 again for direct oscillation in a prescribed frequency. The electrodes 13, 14 with this constitution are formed as a shape which can reflect the surface waves from the electrode 12 effectively, e.g., parabola, and the width L1 of the electrode 12 is formed smaller than the width L2 of the electrodes 13, 14 substantially. Further, the electrodes 13, 14 are formed gradually smaller from the opposing sides like reflection electrodes 23, 24. With this constitution, the surface waves from the electrode 12 are fed back to the electrode 12 efficiently without phase shift.
