Abstract
PURPOSE:To smoothen the operation of the sliding part of a rod and to prevent the wear of the rod in a strut type air suspension for a vehicle in which an air chamber is disposed at the outer periphery of a strut damper by constructing to outwardly displacing the air chamber from the center of the damper. CONSTITUTION:An air chamber 9 is displaced outwardly by a distance a with respect to the center line X-X of a damper which is formed of a strut body 1 and a rod 2. Thus, the bottom 6a of a lower tank 6 and the upper surface 7a of an upper tank 7 bearing the air pressure ..of air chamber 9 become large area at the outside portions with respect to the center line X-X, and there occurs a pressure difference at the pressure bearing areas. The air pressure difference corresponding to this difference cancels out the lateral force of an arrow acting on the slides 1a, 2a of the body 1 and the rod 2. Accordingly, the slide of the rod 2 becomes smooth, thereby preventing the wear of the rod.
