Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound industrially advantageously useful as a recovering agent for consciousness and function disturbance in cerebral trauma, etc., by reacting cytidine-phosphoric acid with a metal salt of phosphorylcholine halide in the presence of an excess amount of a specific sulfonyl chloride.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Cytidine-5'-phosphoric acid is reacted with (B) a metal salt of phosphorylcholine halide (e.g., calcium phosphorylcholine chloride, etc.) in the presence of an excess molar amount (preferably 2W5 times the molar quantity) based on component B of a compound (e.g., p-toluenesulfonyl chloride, etc.) shown by the formula RSO2Cl[R is (1W3C alkyl-substituted)phenyl, lower alkyl]preferably at 0W50°C for 1W3hr, to give the desired compound. The molar ratio of the starting raw materials of A:B is preferably 1:2W4.
EFFECT: The reaction and the fractionation operation of the desired substance are simple and, the desired substance is obtained in high yield.
