Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the title compound useful as a miticide, in high yield, by reacting neophyl magnesium halide with an equimolar amount of dicyclohexyltin dihalide.
CONSTITUTION: Dicyclohexyl neophyltin halide of formula II, e.g. dicyclohexyl neophyltin chloride, is prepared in an yield of 80W90%, by mixing and reacting (A) a hydrocarbon solution containing 1 mole of dicyclohexyltin dihalide of formula I (R is H, lower alkyl; X is Cl, Br) with (B) an ether solution containing essentially 1 mole of neophyl magnesium halide.
