Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled resin, having improved weather and corrosion resistance, and suitable for a coating material, adhesive, etc., by reacting an epoxy resin with an α, β-unsaturated monocarboxylic acid and an unsaturated carboxylic ester in the presence of a specific catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: Bisphenol A is reacted with an epihalohydrin to give an epoxy resin having a molecular weight of 340W1,500.
