Abstract
PURPOSE: To effect smooth gasification of fuel as well as to promote mixing with primary air by providing double air passages encompassing a fuel supply pipe and by introducing preheated high temperature air into a gasification unit through only an outer air passage.
CONSTITUTION: Upon switching on a heater 10 in an outer duct 9, a blower 12 and a pump 14, air is drawn into the gasification unit 1 through a gap between an inner air duct 11 and the pipe 13. At the same time, part of air flow through the outer air duct 9 is preheated by the heater 10 and introduced into the gasification unit 1 through a gap between the inner air duct 11 and a guide sleeve 8. Fuel is atomized as carried on a high speed air jet near outlet of the pipe 13. The atomized fuel becomes gasified state by impingement against a side wall of the gasification unit 1. This allows momentary gasification of fuel and steady combustion by prevention of reduction in temperature of the side wall of the gasification unit because air at high temperature which has been preheated in the branch duct 9 impinges aginst the gasification unit 1 together with atomized fuel.
