Abstract
A gas turbine combustion chamber comprises a fuel burner 28 mounted in the upstream wall of the combustion chamber, the fuel burner comprising a central duct 30 partially surrounded by an annular duct 34, each of the ducts having swirl vanes 36, 38 at their upstream ends and fuel inlet apertures 44, 46 downstream of vanes. The fuel supply to each of the ducts can be controlled so that at low speeds a majority of the fuel is injected into the annular duct 34 whilst at higher engine speeds, a majority of the fuel is injected into the central duct 30. <IMAGE>
