Abstract
PURPOSE: To make arc error corrections by a simple circuit without using a squaring arithmetic circuit, by providing a detector for vertical extent of movement Y of a probe arm, detector for Y2 and detector for horizontal extent of movement X.
CONSTITUTION: At positions equal distance L1 away from fulcrum 1 of probe arm 2 supported on fulcrum 2 moving in horizontal direction (x), detector 3 detecting vertical displacement Y in vertical direction (y) of probe 6 and detector 4 outputting a signal proportional to Y2 such as a variable capacity type detector are provided at right angles to arm 2. An arc error is in proportion to output Y2 of detector 4. Its output is amplified and added to the amplified value of the output of detector 5 for horizontal extent of movement X to correct the arc error. This circuit is simple because no squaring arithmetic circuit is used.
