Abstract

PURPOSE: To quickly stop recirculating at the deceleration to prevent unpleasant shock generated at the deceleration by providing a conducting valve to conduct atmospheric air at the deceleration to an exhaust gas recirculating device.
CONSTITUTION: Suction and exhaust pipes 2, 3 of an engine 1 are connected by a return flow passage 9 with an EGR control valve 4. A negative pressure chamber 44 of the control valve 4 is connected to a suction pipe 2 at right above a throttle valve when it is completely closed through a negative pressure adjusting valve 5. Furthermore, atmospheric air can be conducted into the negative pressure chamber 44 by a negative pressure conducting valve 7. Then, a negative pressure chamber 71 of the conducting valve 7 is connected with the suction pipe at the downstream side of the throttle valve 11 through a negative pressure delay valve 6. Being thus constituted, high negative pressure generated in the suction pipe 2 at the deceleration acts upon the conducting valve 7 through the delay valve 6 to convey atmospheric air to the negative pressure chamber 44 of the control valve 4. As the result, an EGR passage can be instantly shut off.
