PURPOSE:To eliminate a data error by making parity checks on mode data and transmitted data individually and by requesting data retransmission when the both are not correct. CONSTITUTION:When data is transferred from master device A to subordinate device B, subordinate device B converts the received mode data into parallel data for a parity check. The transmitted data is also converted into parallel data successively and the parity check is made. The results of both parity check circuits 31 and 32 are ORed by OR gate 33 and according to the output of the gate, a parity response bit in status data 17 is set and then transmitted to master device A. Master device A resends a frame only when the parity response bit shows an error.
