Abstract
PURPOSE: To decrease clogging of a filter and perform filtration of good efficiency by providing a settling tank on the fluid supply side for the precision filter.
CONSTITUTION: A settling tank 3 is provided right under a filter 2, and filter mediums 2A of 0.1W100μ nominal openings are provided in the filter 2. An inflow port 4 from the side and an efflux port 5 positioned in the upper perpendicular direction in the flow direction from the inflow port 4 are provided to the settling tank 3. The efflux port 5 of the tank 3 and the inflow port 6 of the filter 2 are mounted freely and detachably by way of flanges 7, 8. The ascending velocity of fluid in horizontal section is made lower than the sedimentation velocity of the materials to be filtered by making computation by commonly known Steiner formula. Fluid enters the inside of the tank 3 through the inflow port 4 and large particles settle here. Only the small particles are sent into the filter 2 through the efflux port 5. In the filter 2, the fluid is subjected to precision filtration, but it has been removed of most of the large particles in the tank 3 and therefore the clogging of the filter is less and even if the filtration area of the filter 2 is small, the filtration of good efficiency may be performed.
