Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent gas bubbles from penetrating into pressure chambers and conduct constantly stable printing by a method wherein the gas bubbles generated in an ink feed passage is removed by a forced flow of ink.
CONSTITUTION: The pressure chambers 11 being connected to jet nozzles 12 at one end thereof are connected to an ink reservoir 13 at the other end thereof and the reservoir 13 is fed with ink from an ink tank 16 through a pipe 17. In this case, a pump 19 is fitted in the pipe 17 and the other end of the reservoir 13 is connected to the ink tank 16 through a pipe 18 which is fitted therein with a valve 20. When the gas bubbles are generated in the pipe 17, the pump 19 is operated with lids (not shown) being fitted at the tip ends of the nozzles 12 and with the valve 20 opened, to forcibly circulate the ink from the tank 16 to the reservoir 13 and back to the tank 16, thereby removing the gas bubbles into the upper part of the tank 16. Then, after opening the lids at the tip ends of the nozzles 12 and closing the valve 20, the pump 19 is operated to fill the ink into the pressure chambers 11 and the nozzles 12.
