Abstract
PURPOSE: To convert a precipitate to a disposable substance simply by a method wherein an inorg. coagulating agent containing Al ion is added to a waste liquid and, moreover, S2O6 2- is flocculated and precipitated by adjusting a pH of waste water to a specific valve and the generated precipitate is subjected to heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water from a wet stack gas desulfurizing procedure of a step 1 is received in a preliminary flocculation and precipitation tank for use with a raw water storage tank in a step 2. Herein, the SS therein is precipitated naturally as well as the pH is maintained in the vicinity of a neutral point by Ca(OH)2 to remove Fe3+ or Cr3+ by precipitation. Subsequently, in a flocculation and precipitation tank of a step 3, the pH is moreover increased by Ca(OH)2 to precipitate and remove almost all metal ions as well as SO4 2-. Next, in a step 4 for flocculating and precipitating S2O6 2-, an inorg. flocculating agent containing Al ion is added and, by adding an alkali agent based on Ca(OH)2 to adjust the pH to 10 or more, said S2O6 2- is flocculated and precipitated and the obtained precipitate is decomposed by heating in an incinerating furnace of a heat treatment step 5. In this case, SO2 gas is not generated and the waste liquid in the step 4 is discharged after neutralized and filtered.
