Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to perform processing by use of an ordinary signal decoding part by providing a high-speed memory, having two functions of high- speed writing and low-speed reading, between an ITV camera and signal decoding part.
CONSTITUTION: A video signal for one horizontal scan from ITV camera 1 is converted by binary-coding circuit 5 into a digital signal, which is written in memory 6 at a high speed. High-speed memory 6, after being stored with bar code information for one horizontal scan, operates control circuit 10 to change the memory lock from the high-speed to the low speed and the memory mode from writing to reading. As a result, the writing operation of memory 6 is changed over to the reading operation and the previously written bar code information is read out at the low speed and sent to signal decoding circuit 7. Thus, the high-speed writing operation and low-speed reading operation are alternated, so that the ordinary signal decoding part can perform the processing sufficiently.
